| | was at the ballroom of romance in portobello last night and once more was treated to some of the best music to be found anywhere...
derrick devine is a songwriter of huge potential with a terrific stage presence and gave a passionate performance with his band which apparently was his first proper gig...fans of the frames, dEUS, tindersticks should check him out...
the tycho brahe were sublime as you'd expect, although their reflective intricate music was perhaps lost a bit in the hyper atmosphere generated at these nights...'half mast' and 'internal life of animals' were particular highlights for those who could hear!...
the dudley corporation were definitely clearly heard...their disjointed frantic performance (this is a compliment) was a head-bashing heart-pounding finale on another memorable night at the lower deck...
thanks to all involved for providing magical live nights like these and long may they last... | | | |

derrick devine was amazing...i thought he sounded
a bit like Bell X1...Ironic when you consider
that paul noonan himself was there last night
The Tycho were really good, but the crowd tends
to be fairly loud at these gigs.

Derrick Devine will be releasing his debut EP,"Charge" on Tuesday 25th February in the Sugar Club. He spent loads of money putting it together, so it'd be great if you could go.
