Your Dad saw the Stones in early 70's ? Thats cool. I've heard a few bootlegs from that big European tour, they were absolutely cracking. Lucky man. Will he (and you) be going to Slane this year?

"I think Exile was a hangover from the end of the '60s" mick said this some years ago..i think he's wrong ,

He sort of has a point, in a way. There's a jaded feel to Exile that could be said to symbolise the big 60's come-down. The failure of Altamont, the Manson killings, heroin etc. The murky underbelly of the flower-power era. Mick Jagger has never been a big fan of Exile on Main St anyway. He's made that clear in alot of interviews. I think maybe he resents Keith for coming up with one of their best efforts. It's very much a guitar album, most of Micks vocals are buried in the mix, so he probably doesn't look back fondly on that album.

I'm going to stick it on tonight too

Ya's Ya's is great alright. I listen to Let It Bleed more but the live stuff does get the odd airing. I got the Gimme Shelter film aswell. Its got some great performances from that same US tour, obviously comes to a gloomy conclusion with Altamont though. Well worth seeing.
