I know this has been covered before but can anyone recommend a good MP3 site (not Limewire or Soulseek). Many thanks! B

I've been using allofmp3 recently and although I think its great value, I find though that the size of the MP3's are huge, anything from 5 up to nearly 20 mgs a track, depending on its length. Are they always that big?

Depends on the quality, haven't been on allofmp3 in a while butyou can specify the file type (MPEG-1 Layer 3 - MP3, Windows Media Audio - WMA, Ogg Vorbis - OGG, MusePack - MPC, MPEG-4 AAC, etc) and encoding for tracks you download. Some file types use less space than MP3 and lowering bit rate lowers file size (along with sound quality). Variable Bit Rate encoding is a good compromise.

That figures. I've been using CD quality alright, which is the best. I bought a half gig flash card for my phone and it barely squeezes in 4 albums.

you;re better off using something like soulseek rather than allofmp3. allofmp3 exploits copyright loopholes allowing them to legitimately sell artists work, while paying them nothing, but creaming in profits. at least with soulseek no invididual is making money off of it. use soulseek, then buy hard copies of the albums you like

Nor I. Personally speaking - and I know this will raise heckles - I think people over 30 should be exempt from copyright laws anyway. I've spent 17 years buying about 1000 albums prior to this whole MP3 business. Am I seriously supposed to PAY for some kind of bulls**t like the Kaiser Chiefs? "I'm serious! I'm working on my abs!"
