Ok, forgetting sexually explicit letters of all kinds and supposed incursions on free speech, what is the best break up song that you know of ? You know, there you are, there he/she is (tick appropriate box), you are lost for words but have a cd player/MP3 player/Stereo etc. What song do you play to let him/her get the idea.
Starter for ten:
'Anna' by The Beatles

i think "prayer to god" by shellac defo deserves a mention here. unlikely source for breakup songs, but then it's an unlikely break up song, of a kind you dont hear often enough- a nasty, nasty break up. the whole lyric is a prayer to god asking him to speed the one who broke your heart(and the one they broke it with) toward a horrible, horrible death. it starts with: "To the one true god above...", and ends with "Amen".
"her, she can go quietly by desease or a blow/to the base of her neck where her necklaces close/where her garments come together/where i used to lay my face/that's where you should kill her/in that particular place/as for him, just f**king kill him/i dont care if it hurts..."
etc....very cheery.
great song, though. |

That new one by "F*ck you, I don't want you back" by what's his face makes a good point, but "Nothing compares to you" is good if you still like her |

Jeff Buckley - Lover You Should Have Come Over, much closer to the bone than Last Goodbye.
"Its never over,
She's the tear hangs inside my soul forever."

Well it has to be ' You'll cry when I die ' by A House. For obvious reasons. We are talking bitter break-ups here ??? |
