That sounds like hard work - I bought very few albums this year.. 3 of them were on the poll - Tricky fell under everyones radar as did - Spititualized. YEah - flashback musak,.. but decent comebacks it has to be said.

As for the totally disgraceful missing Ida Maria Lp - that only leads me to believe that writing for this poxy site is just not even a thought worth entertaining. I mean come on... and no sign of Hot Chip either ... no wonder no-one posts here.

Also, have to admit that most of the albums on the shortlist didn't really do it for me this year. i must be gettin old or something

haven't heard that tricky album, must check it out. haven't listened to anything he's done since pre-millenial tension. maybe it's time to get back in touch

If i was to pick a few albums that didn't make the shortlist, they would be:

torche - meanderthal
f***** up - year of the pig (not really an album but deadly all the same)
municipal waste - art of partying
metallica - death magnetic
juliana hatfield - how to walk away
death cab for cutie - narrow stairs
scars on broadway
iron lung - sexless/no sex
burial

i'm sure there's others but that's all i can think of for the moment

maybe, next year, I'll get up off my hole and write a review for ye so that I can help out with the shortlisting!
