So interesting, in fact, that you decided to register & post on the forums for the first time...?!?! I don't see whats so interesting about the countrys' largest & worst gig promoter joining forces with the U.S.'s largest & (posssibly*) worst promoter.... methinks me smells a rat.

    * = Never been to the U.S., but if the s**te they got up to with Clear Channel & their live recording scam / Live 8 / the deal with Madonna, are anything to go by, then it qualifies for the title.

Last month called, it wants its news back

    http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/finance/2007/1027/1193396323626.html

On the subject of Clear Channel...I mean Live Nation, (amazing how a change of name can get you out of a legal - and I think this is the technical term - sh*t hole!) while my (generally negative) opinion of the company was improved slightly when their CEO challenged Ticketb*stard about the price of gig tickets, it returned to it's normal state of affairs when I read the following quote

"When a fan buys a ticket, we learn an enormous amount about them: What bands they like, where they live, how much they are willing to spend," Rapino said. "Someday, a fan will be sitting in a bar and his cellphone will text message 'Sonic Youth are playing tonight. Do you want to go?' He'll buy his ticket over the phone and walk to the concert."

Yes, because we all need text messages to remind us when our favourite bands are playing...

Fair enough, but I'd still be stretched to call the news "interesting"... "ominous" might be a better term!

They'll be sending texts saying "Anyone buyin' or sellin' tickets?" next.
