I first wandered across Cluas all those years ago, when looking for music by Irish artists. At that time there was a downloads section on Cluas and I remember taking ages on my dial up connection to download a few tracks, some of which inspired me to check out full albums by these artists and led me to their gigs and so on...

Since then, the messageboard has been the main source of inspiration for me to wander out and pick up albums recommended by other posters...

Here are 5 albums, in no particular order, which I bought based on recommendations from you guys and all of them have become personal favourites.

    1. Colm Quearney: The Worlds Not Round. ( First track I downloaded from Cluas was one of Colms)
    2. The National: Alligator
    3. The Decemberists: The Crane Wife
    4. The Arcade Fire: Funeral
    5. Ambulance Ltd: Ambulance Ltd

Anyone else find themselves buying albums on recommendation from Cluas posters....

Nice idea for a thread Klootfan.

I have to say Unicron got me onto the Wrens after his very effective lobbying 'round these parts. I also secured Interpol's debut without hearing even a track based on some early discussions on the CLUAS board. I also remember going out and buying (and loving) The Avalanches 'Since I Left You' and God Speed You Black Emperor's 'Lift your skinny hands...' albums after reading reviews of them by CLUAS writers. And that's the tip of the iceberg for me. More later if I get a moment.

Not an album, but a gig: I went to see The Decemberists live earlier this year because of all the CLUAS mentions: I wasn't disappointed.
