The problem might be that apart from being boring there is nothing else to link the various groups together. there's no continuity at all. It all seems cobbled together at the last minute- OCS being the latest to be roped in. if this were a charity gig I could understand but this is the biggest gig in the country all year. is this the best we can muster? all this summer ther have been so many festivals and events and i have trouble thinking of one that was worth attending. maybe we need fewer festivals to sort out the wheat from the chaff. Good point marky. And hi gh, why don't I like the phonics? Because Kelly Jones is not a good singer by any stretch of the imagination. The phonics' music (much like Oasis) is too basic, all their songs sound the same underscored with commercialism making it very bland in my view. Besides JEEP has to be one of the worst rock albums in history. Where does rock n' roll go when its songwriters extend their careers by singing about hotels/taxi-drivers and the like? I see also in Hot Press this month the Phonics lay into Radiohead and particularly Thom Yorke for being a moany sod. Is there a band they haven't got stuck into? What really irritates me also is this working class bullsh*t they & Oasis go on with. As if their music is any more relevant than Radiohead, Coldplay or Starsailor cos they are middle class and never had to get up at (check the horror of this) 7:30 to earn a crust!!! Hello Kelly Jones! Get a life! Music should be judged on its merits and not on the background of those who produce it. Yours is just crap. End of story.
