I quite like that tune, "sexy back" was just embarassing, but this was good. Maybe not song of the year good, but still good.

pretty good list though isn't it?

think its class the way you can download the track, or watch the video. Gave me a few new albums to go out and get.

thought sexy back was s**te, and just listened to the "my love" there, don't really think its that great at all.

"My Love" did nothing for me the first time I heard it, especially since the first time I heard it was on MTV or one of the video music channels. I find videos can sorta skew your perception of the music, and you aren't paying attention because it's too easy just to flick channels because it doesn't hit you in the first 15 seconds.

It was only that I happened to be a passenger in someone elses car (which is pretty unusual for me), and the stereo was on, I was just sort of half listening to it, not really paying attention to who was singing, and it just hit me what an amazing song it was, that vocal over those synths. Even the rapping doesn't jolt the track and feel out of place like the token rap breakdown you get on so many modern pop songs. Actually I've been strugglinf to write a half decent review of Junior Boys album "So this is Goodbye" for ages and this track achieves everything that album tries to be, only better.

I actually kinda liked 'sexyback' and 'my love' okay too - but his new songs aren't up to the very high standards he set with those brilliant singles off his first album...

...and anyway, 'maneater' by nelly furtado was far and away the best single of 2006.

That's where we'll have to agree to disagree, I reckon the singles off the first album sound dated now and aren't a patch on "my love"

Maneater was great, but as chart pop singles go this year, I preferred "Lipstick" by Alesha Dixon. It's like someone took MIAs sound and decided to do a slicker, commercialised (well obviously not THAT commercial judging by relative lack of chart success), less threatening, less chaotic, more coherent version of that sound, and that, believe it or not, is actually a good thing.
