Watched the channel 4 documentary on tuesday. apart from the fact the film-maker was madder than a bag of cats it still portrayed doherty as a f****d up soul. Fascinating viewing though...

Found the whole thing quite pathetic really. The film, the film-maker, Doherty himself, the heroin chiq .... I've never had time for 'troubled geniuses', find them boring.

it was disturbing, and just an excuse to gawk at Doherty taking smack and poncing around with Kate Moss. His posse are obviously losers.

I found it very disturbing, more so the film maker than anything else. Pete on Max in Kate... the height of weirdness. I had forgotten about how good some of those Libertines tunes were though, and I got two Babyshambles songs since, and they are both quite good.

yeah, Babyshambles stuff is OK, but sometimes is so f**king sloppy. I wouldn't have the patience to go to a gig where the leadsinger kept forgetting the words. Though their ex-drummer (Gemma, now in The Suffragettes) was very gracious on the programme. Probably the only one who offered a valuable insight.

The degree to which the press have moulded and controlled the entire Pete Doherty debacle signifies a new era in the 'coverage' of celebrity musicians. The only people who'll profit here are certain tabloids (with their 'exclusive' access to Doherty, provided the reporters keep the cash for crack stream going) and possibly Moss. Watch for the latter's exit as Doherty slips deeper in drug criminality. I'm no fan of the Libertines or Doherty's web scrawlings etc but something about this whole thing strikes me as reaching a new low. I feel sorry for the bloke. I hope the circulation/viewership execs feel the same when this mess comes to its inevitable f**ked-up halt. Carlish is very clearly unwell, and very obviously exploited, just like his idol.

He's acting no different than any other f**ked up, heroin addicted rock star. The haven't moulded and controlled him as much as moulded and controlled out perception of him
