Gig of the fortnight is... Frightened Rabbit

Why?

There's something about he maudlin lilt of the Scottish accent that makes it ideal for singing songs that are weighed down with sadness and self-loathing.  And right now no one does it better than Frightened Rabbit's Scott Hutchison.  This pair of dates is in support of last year's live and mostly acoustic Liver! Lung! FR! and much like that album, which was mostly made up of songs from the astonishing The Midnight Organ Fight it'll be a for the most part acoustic gig.

It hasn't been happy visiting for Animal Collective to these shores.  A year and a half ago Avery Tere was too sick to sing thanks in part to their van being broken into the previous night and then last May a broken down bus meant that their Tripod gig was pulled and replaced by a now near legendary (to those that heard about it and managed to get in there) late night set in Whelan's.  Fingers crossed that third time is the charm for the band that in Merriwether Post Pavilion has released an album that's sure to be there or thereabouts in many critics end of year lists.
