and they're playing the sugar club on thurs aug 30th with another wonderful scottish band 'frightened rabbit' (who despite their hugely uninspiring name, play music that is both huge and inspiring)
www.myspace.com/frightenedrabbit

they're also playing at castlepalooza this weekend

i've been a little underwhelmed by the two twilight sad songs i've heard... but many people swear by them and 2 songs is 2 songs.... the one frightened rabbit song i've heard on the other hand is fantastic... will be at the gig...

i love the lead singer's voice in particular and their lyrics are deliciously dark (twilight sad)
would really suit a mike leigh film
they're the kind of band that could be great in an arab strap/delgados kind of way or could become something quite bland and commercial like what embrace have evolved into
hopefully the former will win out

as it turns out, am gonna bloody miss the gig as my girlfriend bought us tickets for the regina spektor show the same night!! (i like regina but would much prefer this gig)
