was anyone else at Doves last night? If so what did ya think? Was my third time to see them play and they just get better and better.....what a fantastic live band! They didn't just play there new album either but a great selection of their best tunes from all three LP's..... if ya can start a gig with a song like 'Pounding' you are always gonna have the crowd on your side. Respect to the doves

I enjoyed it, not as good as their last olympia gig but a million times better than the horrendous glastonbury 2003 gig they played. The new stuff sounded much better live then on CD but I still think it's in the main weak. Missed the start of the gig, came in during "words", dissapointed that I missed "pounding".

yeah the last olympia gig was an absolute corker alright dont think their new album has progressed much from The Last Broadcast.... but the boys can certainly put on a show and I reckon even their weaker material would have some bands drooling with awe

Are you Serious!?!?!? I've seen doves loads of times including glasto 2003 I thought it was great. What was so "horrendous" played all the good tunes, everyone was in to it. Maybe I was just drunk and on a high but was deffinately one of the highlights of glasto for me.

To me it seemed that they messed about with the arrangements that night and it kind of destroyed the magic for me. It didn't help that there were a bunch of manc scumbags (no dissrespect to the band) on poppers and shroomed out of their heads dancing into me repeatedly constantly saying "I luv sub-sub".

3rd time seeing them..and once again they played an absolute blinder. I love the minimal/subtle use of visuals and they'd great lights too - although they did use the same Wigan Casino footage at the last Olympia gig - should have maybe had something new. The northern soul theme is really strong on the new songs, especially the single Black and White Town'. Does no one else think 'Walk in Fire' sounds a little bit too like 'There Goes the Fear'???

yeah dromed i see where your coming from on that one... there is a definite similarity.... you could easily merge 'some cities' and 'last broadcast' together, they are that alike!

Saw them in Castlebar the night before. Mesmerising. All three of their albums are masterpieces. An incredible feat.

3rd time seein them aswell. The last Olympia gig was well better than last week. Thought they should have played more from the new album. I and most of my friends thought their set choice was a bit weird. They're still excellent live. Saw them at Glastonbury aswell but I would still rank their first olympia gig was best

I live in Castlebar and couldn't go. How annoying is that? Heard they were great though. I'm determined to catch them live sometime soon. Are they playing anywhere else around this year?

Wouldn't be surprised if they were signed up for Oxegen.
