A bit delayed, this post, but what did you think?

    I thought they were fantastic.

Yeah, really enjoyed it. Only complaint was that it was so short.

Yeah, they seem to only have the songs on the album. Hope they start working on another one soon!

Who was the girly who supported them? Was it Ann Scott? If it was I was highly disappointed in someone I've heard good things of.

I thought it was a great gig. I was a bit worried at the start with the amount of people their but it was a lot better than I expected. I can't stop listening to the album now. I thought that "Handsome Furs hate this city" was amazing.

    It was Ann Scott.

I dunno how soon we'll hear new HF material. The new Wolf Parade album is out in February I hear, I imagine that that will occupy most of Dan's 2008.

I wouldn't be too surprised if new HF material comes out next year (depending on how big the new WP album is). I have read interviews with both Dan and Spencer and it seems like they are treating WP as their side project now. They seem to be more interested in what their doing in Sunset Rubdown and HF at the moment.

Oh I'd love for Spencer to bring SR over. I've got an e-mail from him that's about a year old saying that he had hoped to get over here in the Spring of this year. Got my hands on a bootleg of a live show last week and I've been listening to it loads since.

I dunno about Wolf Parade being the side project now. There was a recent interview with pitchfork where the impression I got was that Spencer was saying that SR isn't as big in terms of sales as WP because it's much weirder sounding and has been on Global Symphonic/Absolutely Kosher/Jagjaguar and they don't have the marketing muscle of Sub Pop to get the word out in the same way. But that's the way he likes it because it means that he gets to do whatever the hell he wants with it and whoever finds it finds it.

I agree that their side projects won't sell as much as WP but they both have seemed to have lost interest in WP and are in it to pay the bills so they can do their side projects. They basically said that WP is their 'mainstream band' - in so many words.

What do people think of the new SR album - I would chew off an arm and a leg to see them live.

I still love WP by the way - I don't want people to get the wrong impression.

It's fabulous, I think even better than their second album, some amazing songs. The Mending Of The Gown is fantastic, he's got such a great way with odd almost archaic lyrics "I have lusted after you the way bloodsuckers do".

Dates might be in the pipeline, I've been told that one Irish promotor is trying to get them over. In the meantime give this a go...

Saw Wolf Parade in Seattle recently and t'was a great gig. I didn't get the impression they were just going through the motions, WP are alive and well I'm sure. They played a marvellous 15 minute long tune that they said will be on the new album. True? Or maybe they were just f**king with the Sub Pop guys who turned up to see them ;-)

So far, I really like The Courtesan has sung and Up on your Leopard.... I can't really get into Stallion though.
