First gig in the reopened venue is Mick Harvey tomorow I think.

Was anyone there over the weekend? What do yous think of it?

I went on Friday and Saturday. It's way bigger upstairs, bar is in the left hand corner and the venue goes back facing on to Wexford Street and there are leather couches for some reason.

Downstairs, it's bigger generally, with most of the space on the left hand side. Can't see why they didn't get rid of the poxy steps down from the bar to the main floor and just open it up a bit more.

The sound is good.

Did you sleep there on Friday?

nope, but the gig on Friday was awesome, so I wanted to see Delorentos again, plus Ham Sandwich were supporting on Saturday, so ya gotsta.

I thought with the refurb, that they'd added a sleeping area.. might be handy for some gigs!! Last time I was in Whelans, Jerry Fish was on (don't ask!).. could've done with a kip during that.

I popped my head in last night, are there now really only 3 ladies toilet cubicles downstairs?! As if the queues weren't bad enough before...

Don't know about downstairs but there's a few upstairs aswell. They need to start putting loads of posters or something up around the dance floor, it looks too clean and new!
