Some pretty major changes are to be rolled out next week on CLUAS. One small part of this is a new logo. Below are three candidates in contention. The first two were developed by 50dollarlogos.com, the 3rd one by CLUAS blogger Stephen McNulty and Matt, a designer colleague of his. Let me know which you prefer:

First I thought 'B' but now I prefer 'C'. So will the ear be Van Goghed, then?
(Definitely not 'A', IMO.)

I guess my preference is pretty obvious! I will add that Option C requires a little more work with the plugs which Matt and I will "3D" in similar fashion to the earplugs to the left of the header. That work will be done, if Eoghan and the rest of you think it worthwhile.
As for the other 2, I don't think option A is of much interest, but Option B has potential, especially if the background colour is more energetic.

I like the ear in B but I like the background and font in C but I don't like the earphones (as I've said before...it reminds me of an ipod ad and the possibility of brand confusion makes the marketer in me break out in a cold sweat.)
Is it possible to move the ear in b to replace the headphones in C?

Keep the comments coming. Idiot Kid's suggestion is interesting. One thing about C that I (deliberately) did not mention before now about is its file size. Logo C above weighs in at 167 KB, which is about 50 times heavier than the current logo (which clocks in at 3 KB). While I am prepared to have a snazzier and heavier logo 167 KB is way too much! I'll see with Stephen if a revised version of C, that reflects Idiot Kid's suggestion is possible.

Hi Eoghan... we can definitely shrink the size considerably when required. I'll look at incorporating an ear similar to Option B. My sense is that it will not work but never say never.
I don't see any marketing confusion... the earphones are to be seen a modernisation of the meaning of CLUAS. But if it's seen as a major issue, we can see if there's something that might work better. Am very open to suggestions.

i agree wit Idiotkid, i think the ear logo is unique to Cluas but the graphics in C would liven the site up.
