How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomber: As Jacques Chirac steps (arthritically) aside, we recall a memorable moment in Franco-Irish diplomatic relations.
1995: Newly-elected French president Jacques Chirac decides, as a first show of authority, to carry out nuclear tests in the South Pacific. The tests are met with worldwide protests.
In November of that year the MTV Europe Music Awards are staged in Paris. U2 are named Best Group, and Bono uses the occasion (see picture) to address a live TV audience of millions about the topical issue of the moment:

"What a city! What a night! What a crowd! What a bomb! What a mistake! What a w*nker you have for President! What are you gonna do about it?!? Tell me you're gonna do something about it!"
The crowd start boo-ing. You can just make out The Edge's gaping astonishment. Behind them, Adam is asking someone to explain it to him.
Since then, Bono's improved his manner of talking about world leaders.

Re: Bono and Chirac the 'w*nker' Shame Bono doesnt extend his fearsome critique to other world leaders who have comitted far greater sins. He is too busy licking their arses, supposedly because to court favour with his pet causes, noting t do with them fact that himself, Bush and Blair are all bible thumpers of course. Bono disgusts me these days. Gone is the quasi scoiast who wrote about the miners strike and amoral US policy in Sth America and in his place is an egotists who always has one eye on the bottom line. Dispicable c*nt
