Just like in her last movie, French actress Emmanuelle Seigner (wife of Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski) has joined a Paris band and become a rock star. Watch the video for their first single.
Tonight in Paris at a small indie venue called La Boule Noire there's a concert by a French group called Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle.
The Emmanuelle in question is their lead singer - French actress Emmanuelle Seigner, best known for starring beside Harrison Ford in Roman Polanski's 1988 Paris thriller 'Frantic'. These days Ms Seigner is actually Mrs Polanski, and the couple live in Paris.
Last year Seigner starred in a French film called "Backstage", the story of a wild rock diva - and the role obviously gave her a taste for the real thing.
You can listen to some tracks by Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle on their MySpace page, and you can watch the video for their single 'Sing Sing' below:

Re: Madame Polanski - rock goddess What is it about actors that they all want to be musicians, and models for that matter, Carla Bruni has a new album out too. By Rev Jules on

Re: Madame Polanski - rock goddess In France, nearly every second actress makes an album - usually fairly bland 'chanson francaise' -style acoustic pop. The first Carla Bruni album was nice, but the latest one - English language poems set to music - sounds like bad Nouvelle Vague.
Which reminds me that Vanessa Paradis will have a new album out this autumn - bet you all can't wait. By aidan on

Re: Madame Polanski - rock goddess Mel, I agree - in fact, there are other French female singers who sound a lot like the VU, Lou Reed and Nico at the moment: two of whom are Keren-Ann ('talks' like Lou's 'New York' album) and the wonderful Vanessa and the O's (she sounds exactly like Nico, and lately she even recorded with Lou) who released a smashing album last year called 'The Story Of O' which is basically a VU tribute album.
