Nope-don't think so, but the singer, think that's Bjorn, produced some of the Concretes stuff and also some of the Shout Out Louds stuff-No idea which though........

Benni, I bow to your superiour knowledge. It is indeed the lead singer from the Concretes on the Young Folks single.

I could be wrong here but are the drums on Young Folks sampled from Dance by ESG?

I see that the Concretes singer has now left the band-wonder if she will hook up with P,B & J again-Peter, Bjorn, John and Victoria-doesn't have quite the same ring to it.........

aaaahh, i see. and now after seeing again i see that i should have seen all along, do you see?!
thats a pity, thought the in colour album was great(but not as good as the self titled)
then again young folks is probably better than anything on it so im kind of torn.

Seems they are supporting in Galway and Cork-not sure about Dublin though. Hot Club de Paris are also supporting in all 3 venues so am going to check their myspace now and see what they are like.2 support bands though-nice to see........

I was listening to their new album over the weekend, I like it, lots of catchy tracks on it but in my book they fall a bit short of being the perfect indie pop outfit. Negatives for me would be the vocals and the accents but thats something i'll get used to I suppose. Still likeable and i'll be going to see them alright. Everytime I hear Paris 2004, the chorus lyrics "I'm all about you, you're all about me, we're all about each other" I just keep thinking of Mcflys All About You!

Although question not directed at me, IMO for perfect indie pop-there can only be one winner-Belle and Sebastian. That is if you can call them indie pop. Maybe folk pop is more appropriate. They are really back on form too with latest album.Had to laugh at McFly reference though-you have ruined that song for me now!

oh, on the spot now! yeah I'd absolutely agree with Jairzinho Belle & Sebastian do perfect indie pop. I suppose now that I think about it it's hard for any band to be all round perfect indie pop but bands that have had perfect indie pops songs for me would be the likes of Super Furry Animals, Lightning Seeds, Grandaddy, Lemonheads, Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Boy Least Likely, Coral, Josh Rouse, Weezer and more recently Islands. My genre radar isn't the greatest but i think I can name at least one song from those bands that I would consider perfect indie pop.

Agree with a lot of those Comet-especially SFA, Lemonheads, Boy Least Likely, Weezer and Islands. But Dogs die in hot cars-who are they?what a gret name for a band-on the name alone I have to check them out.Actually I see you can download on allofmp3.com so will do so later when I get home.......

Actually I think we have overlooked the best indie pop band of recent years-The New Pornographers-3 consistently fantastic albums-I just hope they visit these shores soon.

Definitely check it out, they don't get much attention but their debut Please Describe Yourself is a real favourite of mine, they're finishing off their second album at the moment, I'm really looking forward to it!

Hey Comet.Checked out the Dogs die in hot cars CD last night. On initial listening I liked it-a real mix of sounds from ska to pure downright pop-the opening 5 seconds even reminds me of the National. Am quite looking forward to listening to it again this evening actually-have a few of the tunes running around my head today-cheers for the heads up...
