I saw Robert Post support Aimee Mann recently and he seemed pretty decent, although I haven't heard his album yet. Also this might give me a chance to finally catch The Kills - depending on who clashes. Looking forward to this weekend now.

I'm not too sure about the kills myself... granted I saw them back in
2002/3 supporting Jon Spencer Blues Xplosion... wasnt impressed really.
Very boring show and too much posing.
But thats just my thoughts.

Just curious about them as I heard two of their tracks and there was alot of hype around their last album. So they're no good?

Well..... no its not like they're s**te but its all very samey and
definitly not the best live show your likely to see.
Just basically the two of them singing in each others
faces going...'Yea I'm hot..and smoke like 200 cigs a day yeah..'
BTW - did you check out Louis XIV yet?

Not yet Benni. I saw it in Tower though and will pick it up along with a few others. Just completely broke until Friday, luckily I already have a ticket for Adam Green.

Apart from the ones you mentioned....
Hot Chip are cool - really lo fi funky stuff
Be Your Own Pet are good - like the YYY and apparently all only around 17yrs old!
Audio Bullys - pure class
Human League - just cause you kinda have to!
The Rakes - very 'now' but good non the less
Clor - Heard only great reports of a few live shows from a journo friend in the UK
LCD Soundsystem - they were class at Oxegen
Royksopp - great live, blew me away in HQ a few years back
They'd be a few others I'll be trying to catch.

you really should think about adding Toots & The Maytalls to that sunday list. Great tunes, and i've never seen him live, but the recordings are amazing. Reggae gigs are always good too, bit of leg shaking n what not!

The Electric Picnic message board said they will definitely release "unofficial" stage timetables during the coming week. Apparently the promoters are contracted not to release the official timetables until the day of the gig.
Better not try and charge us for them when down there!

What's the craic with the buses down? I heard it's €40 for a bus ticket that isn't even Dublin Bus, just some crappy coach.

This is why having a car rocks
Last year at Electric Picnic, the car parking was brill, took ages to get in but once in, car parking was run like a military operation with people directing you to your space and you didn't have too far to walk either from the car. Just a suggestion, why not see if some fellow Cluasers in the Dublin area with their own wheels are going would be willing to carpool and offer them cash for petrol or at least buy them a pint (not before they have to drive of course!). C'mon folks, surely someone can sort Gar out? You get the company of one Cluas writer and he might even say nice things about you if he writes an Electric Picnic review.
Won't be going myself this year sadly, in the middle of moving and changing jobs - one that doesn't require doing night shifts like now, which goes some way explaining why I'm on Cluas at 3 in the morning.

'Doves - never seen, even if they are past their best'
What the f**k are you on about? Their first 2 albums are masterpieces but 'Some Cities' surpasses even them. It's an extraordinary album. And they're going to be one of the best live acts of the weekend too...
Really annoying that they haven't released stage times as well and who's playing on which stage etc. Hope doves and kraftwerk don't clash! I may pass out with excitement when kraftwerk come on. Legends!!!!
