Dang. Been thinking about it but have managed to arrange myself into a night out with the lads instead. Hmmm. Maybe i could coax them with the prospect of a sonic mauling?

It was my mate's 21st on monday, he's a huge fan. I saw him about 2am on sunday night/monday morning; covered in sweat, big goofy grin on his face, with a broken drum stick in a blood covered hand, all he could manage to say was "I just drummed with the bolt".

Yea I was quite a bit suspect about how that would go down with Whelans - i mean can you really imagine that place being happy with the f**kin chaos they incite! Esp with there being no stage and no chance of the bouncers being able to do f**k all about anything. I dont think Lightning Bolt will play if Whelans insist on a stage set up - or if they do it'll all change very quickly mid set.

i think its all but sold out at this stage - a mate of mine who's involved in bring them over in some shape or form told me there were only 16 tickets left - and that was at 7pm last night - altho i *may* have a spare one if you're interested!

They seem really into doing their own thing their own way, I wouldn't be surprised if they refuse to play if they have to go on the stage. Or like you said they could pull a fast one.

They might just do an impromtu set somewhere on Camden Street!!! A mate of mine was at ATP the year they played and they just set up outside some f**king chalet at 4am and started lashing out the tunes! That would be a kodak moment if ever there was one. I predict some riots on Camden Street tonight!

Yeah. How was it? How was it? How was it? Or maybe they're all in hospital having drumsticks removed from various parts of themselves?

yeah well... scotch egg was amazing but too short... he dived around on the floor like super mario (as someone else said somewhere else) playing his little gameboy... seriously annoyed i missed the longer set he did in the legal eagle last week... lightning bolt did indeed play in the middle of the floor, therefeore allowing everyone else to use the stage... it was very tribal (and very loud)... it was great probably but you have to be able to be get into it and throw yourself around and i was tired and unable to raise my game... some good crowdsurfin' moments and some real good stuff... bouncers didn't have a clue what the f**k was going on... they gave up pretty quickly

yea this was amazing! Scotch Egg is my new hero it must be said! I had all intentions of staying at the back for lightning bolt - i only got out of hospital after an operation last week and knew i would be annihilated - but subsequently found myself at the other side of the venue 'front row' (if you can call it that?!) for Scotch Egg. The mans a legend! Never had so much fun in the space of a 2 song set in my entire life. Cant believe I missed the Legal Eagle gig. Lightning Bolt were great - but I was pissed off I wasnt well enough to get into it and up front if you get me. Still tho that f**king drummer is sick! Deadly gig - sore ears - sweaty - success!

yeah scotch egg was my highlight of the evening.. much as i enjoyed the lightning bolt set, after a while it seemed a tad indulgent....i suppose that engaging with their music physically is key to fully enjoying and appreciating them and i wasn't able to do that, too tired, sore ankle, out of synch with my inner mosher all of which meant that i was just listening and parts of their set left me cold.... i had a smile on my face for the whole night though as both the band and the audience were having so much fun...haven't seen a crowd like that in whelans in ages! any chance of scotch egg coming back for EP or something?

Saw Mr.Egg support Go! Team last year and I dont think I've laughed as much since! Nobody knew what the fook was goin on, it was all so random. Best of all, he had misplaced his megaphone so the Go Team had made him a giant cardboard replacement with little pictures all over it. He proceeded to yell "f**k you f**k you, KFC buy one get one free" into it before chucking it into the crowd and hurling scotch eggs at everyone. HilARious. Not everyone thought so.
