So who are the rumours ? I'm too lazy to check back to see if there were threads on this already so apologies. Only bands I heard might be are Radiohead & Broken Social Scene - both amazing live so hopefully.

ah the rumour mill, how I love it. On the grapevine I have heard (popbitch style) someone who thinks he's a bird now an excellent band who have a french take on things and are also playing the point this summer some guys who wrote teardrop a groovy bunch who also play BudRising South next week Obviously, if I threw out proper names, 'the man' would give out to me, although the rumour mill is properly churning over here: http://unarocks.blogspot.com/2006/02/first-acts-for-oxegen-circulated.html

Super furrys are confirmed according to the veritable bounty of info that is superfurrylogic.com. Heard rumours about a scottish band who recently played the ambassador.

There is a great little eyebrowye feature on the Electric Picnic site. Really takes the piss out of the whole my favourite band or festival is more obscure than yours thing.

Thought the major rumour was involving that rather spiffing band from oxford. Their supposedly headlining v and doing a small uk tour around it, so it may actually be true..

Nuts! Bleddy Wilco playing festivals here again. Another year without a Wilco gig in an indoor venue. Bah.

I concur. What's the deal with their only playing outdoor venues here? You'd think that one of the biggest (relatively speaking) U.S. bands of the last 5/6 years would have been courted by some promoters? Wilco at Vicar St.! Can you just imagine it!!! Oh and on the subject of Neil Diamond expect a revival of interest a la Johnny Cash. Apparently (and i apologise if this is old news) Rick Rubin's got him in the studio and working his magic.

Now, this may or may not be true, but there are murmurings over at thumped that this year’s Electric Picnic line-up will feature the following: Gary Numan - Massive Attack - DJ Shadow - Anthony & The Johnsons - Groove Armada - Stereolab - Nurse With Wound - Morrissey - Pet Shop Boys - Basement Jaxx - New Order - NWA - 2 Live Crew - Autechre - The Orb - Mogwai - Art Brut - MF Doom - The New Pornographers - King Creosote - MIA - Suburban Kids With Biblical Names - U-Roy - The Redneck Manifesto - DJ Krush - Caustic PhleX - Destroyer - Fingathing - Husky Rescue - Deerhoof Shadow! Mogwai! Massive Attack! New Order! Numan! Stereolab! Morrissey! Oh God, I'm gonna faint!

those there names are almost every band i've seen rumoured to date... although undoubtedly some will end up being true, i'd wager around 50% at least will not... i've already seen someone say that morrisey was just made up (unfortunately)... sure, we'll see - there's some great stuff alright

Yes, Palace, all rumours...but as you said even if 50pc are true it's still a great line-up. So much more imaginative that Oxegen, then again their aiming for a different crowd.

heehee... a simple innocuous post by mr walsh a few weeks ago has caused so much confusion... antistar, its a pugwash going under MIA moniker type of joke that will be completely lost on you if you weren't floating around the board at the time

They did a huge tour when the album was relased a few years ago. http://www.dcfc-tour.net/dcfcrelated.htm You can watch a live radio session here: http://www.kcrw.com/cgi-bin/db/kcrw.pl?show_code=mb&air_date=5/6/03&tmplt_type=show

"For fans living in Ireland the reason for the tour not going to you is because we are booked for the Electric Picnic Festival in Ireland in September and they wanted to keep that event as our sole Irish live show. The festival is on September 1, 2 and 3 but, as yet, I don't know what day we will be playing." http://www.numan.co.uk/clouds/news.html

What I meant was that Postal Service don't tour anymore. In an interview last year Ben Gibbarad refused to discuss new recordings with the Postal Service and simply stated that they don't want to tour anymore. But anything is possible.

NWA split up fifteen years ago and MF Doom can't leave the US cause he's not legally entitled to a passport so I think it's pretty safe to say that the list is horsesh*t.
