Last week saw the show return fro another season. But from now on, you have no excuses for missing it (or at least recording it) every Friday night.
Tonight has Mylo, Artic Monkeys, Miss Dynamite, Los De Abajo, Lizz Wright, Joseph Arthur and I think Ray Davies from The Kinks. BBC2 @ 00:00

Ray Davies! I reckon thats definitely worth tuning in for. Wonder can Miss Dynamite rescue her seemingly stalled career?

oh, I miss this programme! there's a lame imitation of it on a TV station where I'm living but never as eclectic as jools' show. is it the greatest music show ever? probably.
(and congrats on the 1000th post, gar!)

The new album is pretty fantastic alright. I remember seeing him a few years back in the Stables in Mullingar when nobody, including me, knew who the hell he was, and he blew everyone away. Bleedin' stunning he was.

He's a very talented fella, was very saddened when his dublin gig clashed with Sufjan.

Yeh that first show was bloody brillant! editors, goldfrapp, rufus and bacharach, brendan benson - not liking the look of one of the forthcoming shows though: texas, david gray and sean paul....eek!

Eurrgghh I wish Texas would ever evaporate in the steam of the bland cup of Horlicks they emerged from.

I was surprised at some of Ms. Dynamite's songs, she can kinda sing when she wants to and the background singers helped alot. But she got a bit too much airtime, especially when I wanted to hear more of Joseph Arthur. The Artic Monkeys are decent, in a NME cocky type of way. Hopefully next week is a bit better.
Good call from Unicron though, 'Tremors' has to be the best B-movie ever made!!!!

Sigur Ros last night was the best gig i have ever been at, everything about it was spot on, the visual, lights, bone rattling sound and how they mad the whole crowd stay so quiet in the quiet bits of the songs (well, except from a few saps standing behind me, who would of been more suitable for a white snake or bon jovi concert!) without even trying.
it was beautiful really, never ever heard another band quite like them, i think they are really origenal. apart from bands like god speed you black emperor, mogwai and spiritualized anyone know any other band who can make the wall of noise so interesting?

Try God is an Astronaut, maybe a little bit of Boards of Canada, Do May Say Think, Future Pilot AKA, should be right with them, they're kinda similar if not a little more manic in places

Not so much into God Is An Astronaut, a really poor mans M83. And I don't like the visuals that they use, shock value stuff more than an actual statement as far as I can see.

Betty was sensational, what a voice! Thought John Cale made an absolute tit of himself - that's a desperate song...he looked like my da after too many scoops when he pulls the guitar out and does the over 50 shuffle. I was horrified to see him go the way of Lou Reed who quite recently made a show of himself on Jools too. I had more respect for Cale. Ah well.

Actually, Sean Paul doing his thing live has the potential to be great and really interesting ....or utter pants, but thats kinda what makes the show worth watching?
