Im not sure about OZ being out on DVD, but i used to watch quite a lot of it on TG4. Its quite good actually.. My favourite series on DVD would have to be one of Family Guy, Spaced ,Band of Brothers or black books. Band of brothers is on cdwow at the moment for something like 43 euro. Dirt cheap. Black books and spaced are of a similar ilk. With Bill bailey staring in both. Written by the people who brought us Shaun of the undead. Family guy, well what can you say, it pure genius.

I recently got the blackadder series on dvd. pricey enough at €70 but well worth it. Th Bottom dvd would also be a worthwhile acquisition

The West Wing is the only series I have ever truly loved to watch and made a point of watching. Since I met the missus, I have also become a passive viewer of 'Sex In The City'. Scary show. Very scary.

Another great one, also featuring the aforementioned Simon Pegg is the BBC2 scetch show, Big Train. Review: Simon Pegg (Shaun Of The Dead) stars in the best comedy scetch show British TV has seen in years. Big Train steams out of the comedy tunnel as realism meets utter stupidity in a cavalcade of daft sketches performed by high-quality actors in a series of stunning costumes and vast sets reminiscent of the worst excesses of DW Griffith. There are also lots of sketches in offices. Along the way we meet shy policemen, pop stars chasing jockeys, a duck in danger, hens in armed combat, a confused Transport Minister, highly charged sexual politics and casual, though necessary, violence. This mish-mash of random claptrap draws from the pedigree and influence of such series as Father Ted, Spaced, Human Remains and Happiness. The show thrives on the subversion of everyday occurrences, mundane situations and famous faces

I forgot about 'Band Of Brothers'. I have that series and loved it. I started The West Wing last night from the very first episode and am already on the 4th episode, its really good. I don't think anything will beat The Sopranos but always on the look out. My Dad actually mentioned 'Black Adder' to me, not too sure but I'll reserach it a bit more.

Blackadder...what a programme! One of those "cult" classics we'll remember in years to come. It even had a tragic ending to its last ever episode. If its any consolation Binokular, I have friends who continously quote Tommy Tiernan which is probably worse. I used think he was good, now I hate him!!

I have to bring in what appears to me to be an overlooked classic - Armstrong and Miller. Anyone ever see the male model episode? (this was before Zoolander) its just the most surreal series ever. One of them is the guy in the Pimms ad. And theres the obvious genius of the league of gentlemen, phoenix nights, a little know UK Gold show called "My Family" (not the family guy, a winner by a mile though in fairness!) is also a work of hillarious situation comedy, really fantastic acting and writing. Of course, theres also fair city which is a fascinating experiment in wasting public money by RTE. It still makes me mad to think that that crap survived while they told Lenihen and Matthews to go away to "the mainland" as those ignorant dopes in rte probably refer to England to sell Fr Ted. Sorry, I'm sure we all feel the same about that one. Hope you can pick a good one for the week off. Sex and the City is hypnotic, it makes the viewer feel clever, which is when you know youre watching tripe for sure. Well thats my theory. Makes me remember why I hate the rich and ignorant. but there are aspects of the show i appreciate.

Is Armstrong and Miller an Australian series that was on RTE about 4/5 years ago? If its the one I'm thinking of, it was so stupid it was hilarious. I'd defo recommend it. And there's always Little Britain - quite like The League of Gentlemen but imo funnier

This one is going back a bit, but does anyone remember cult TV series "The Prisoner"? It was originally made in the 60s so its terribly dated but was probably one of the most wonderfully surreal things on TV ever. I remember staying up to watch reruns of it late night on RTE instead of studying for the leaving cert. Oh, and I want that car he used to drive at the start! (a Lotus 7 if you really must know)

The Sopranos if you watch it on DVD is quality and of course my personal favourite is Partridge. Family Guy is a classic and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace which was on channel 4 while back was pant wettingly hilarious

I checked over at www.cdwow.com and found the first three seasons of Oz. But they are region 1 dvd which I can't watch. I'll keep looking at different one's. But at the moment the fourth season of West Wing is winning the race with probably Fr. Ted or The Office coming behind, need bit more comedy in my collection. Cheers for all suggestions!!!

Gar this ain't gonna be much use 'cause I don't know what site it's on but there is a site that gives you codes that allow you to unlock your dvd player and play dvds from any region. Does anybody else know where to find this?

Surely thats only PC DVD-ROM/RW drives? its a small patch that you download to your PC and it overwrites the firmware of your drive but may also render it inoperable. Its not impossible to unlock an actual DVD player, just difficult. I should also point out that its probably illegal in the same way that Playstation 2 mod chips are now illegal (in the UK at least) and just so Eoghan can sleep at night I guess I should add that (moderator social responsibility hat on) Cluas does not condone any form of piracy, illegal software and/or cracking of legally protected encryption codes (social responsibility hat off) Get a multi region DVD player folks, its less hassle, its legal and you can pick them up for the price of DVD box set these days.

Or I can just wait for them to release it on Region 2 dvd. Cheers for all the info but I wouldn't be interested in getting a chip or modifying my dvd player just for one tv series.

Now I won't have it. Little Britain is a fine programme. People who don't agree are most likely missing a chromosome or something. I mean, come on David, "the only gay in the village". The granny fancying teen. The not very good transvestite. The West country teenage girl (yeah, but, no, but...)??? All classic.
