i found these guys recently, really great band, they remind me of the pet shop boys meets aha meets aphex twin in a really cool manhatten sort of way, im not sure where they are from but the main singer seems to have an american accent check em out, the album i got was called "Give Up"

The main vocalist is Ben Gibbert from Death Cab For Cutie. It's a side project that will apparently result in a second album later this year. The album 'Give Up' is excellent, as you said, but there's also a great EP with covers by Iron & Wine and The Shins on it.

By the way, anyone who is interested in this act there are a stack of albums in Tower Recs for €16.99. It was previously only an import.

Such Great Heights is a great song - download it if you don't already have it. The nearest thing that Death Cab do to the Postal Service stuff is the Marching Bands of Manhattan track, which is also great.

Ben Gibbard is a poet, just brilliant, brilliant song and lyric writing. If you like the postal service and Death Cab, another one of Gibbards side projects is All Time Quarterback, Why I cry being a stand out track. Love Marching Bands too Una, listened too it leaving Manhatten last week, it was the saddest thing ever just watching the skyline disappear! Clark Gable is also another great song on "Give Up", again for the lyrics, God the man is a genius.

This venture is much better than anything by death cab. And for you crazy kids i recommend you check out rilo kiley..Their lead singer did the vocals on that record along with gibbard. She also released a solo record this year..
