...a band called Black Mountain. They came 2nd in the Rough Trade top 100 albums of the year (yes I know, another top 100 but at least its composed by a reputable label). Anyway, don't see much about them on the net. When I do a google, I mostly get tourist stuff for some Black Mountain in the States....

They are a real kinda rough sounding rock band from Canada and released a decent self-titled album last year. The man songwriter is a chap named Stephen McBean, who also is in charge of the Pink Mountaintops. Check out the tunes over at: http://www.myspace.com/blackmountain
