delorentos were great, boss volenti too, stef was brilliant but he should lose the backing singers, they cant sing and at one point it was like the committments....but other than that the songs are class and its all about his voice..the immediate were mighty, star dept too, angel pier were a good find. the things were excellent, given that it is a show rather than a collection of songs..the singer is very entertaining. what was the story with the rags?twenty minutes? relaly like the chpaters new sound, funny thing is the single is probably the weakest song in the set...very dawsons creek..but i love the new sound on the whole... future kings were crap....dont understand the hype... aleko were ok, nice and tight but very repetitive..dunno if i could leave on a whole album of that...

were there new backing singers singing with stef or something? (i notice the harlem gospel choir were playing the same night!) never noticed anything wrong with the lads in the band, usually seem pretty spot on to me,

yeah he had three backing singers, to be fair i havent seen stef live in a while so it mightn't be a recent thing. in my opinion though the guitarist in his band provides more than ample backing vocals, he doesnt need the three girls singing behind him...it actually changes the mood/attitude of some of the songs and almost turns cabaret.... i like most believe that stef has all the parts to be something special...he just needs to figure out how to put it together...his voice defines the attitude of the songs and i reckon that adding backing singers gives the air of committments' "shoop de doop" nonsence... as i said that is only my opinion.

Republic of Loose have backing singers and they're awesome. So do Guillemots actually. I guess it depends. I can't see Stef + backing singers really working on stage though. Not the same vibe.

Pretty much got what I expected on the weekend. Most of the bands sounded the same. Only enjoyed watching a few. envelope., as mentioned a few times before by others, were fantastic. The immediate were quite enjoyable as well but in a different way. I always enjoy watching as well. Found a lot of 'same-y' bands. Anyway, took a load of pictures, and put them up on my blog at www.myspace.com/ablacksquirrel and a few will also be going up on my site www.ablacksquirrel.com

possibly a case of over egging the pudding. he seems like he would like to be seen as a troubador.... a kind of springsteen with a big musical band and such things. just got a copy of his album this afternoon actually.

My balls aren't so big - Do you think I'd like Delorentos?

Only if you brought some friends with big balls along to the gigs. As long as the balls are in your presence, i think you'll like Delorentos
