If you had to pick a song to soundtrack your day job, what would it be?

In my case:

Job - IT Admin
Song - LCD Soundsystem - "Watch the Tapes" (my life seems to revolve around backups)

Anyone else?

I'm a cardiologist, so I start my mornings with Jimmy Ruffins 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted'

Accountant (unwillingly)

They dragged you in off the street and forced you at gunpoint?

Scary people those finance types, everytime I wanna buy a new server they tell me "we're gonna need to do an accrual", I have no idea what that is, but it sounds painful...

Yeah they took me from my bed when i was a kid and forced me.....i was kidding..... i have a great job..the most annoying thing in my workplace is IT...

coming from IT i.e land of star wars...thats a pretty bold statement..funny every time i call IT they say "log off and reboot" they should get it tattood on their heads.....

ye can always spot IT nerds at a cinema.....they're the ones who have seen the fookin thing BEFORE it was made...and are only going so they can let everyone else know.....

Yeah, says the accountant......IT are the most annoying people I have ever come across.my friends that are in IT..take the fun out of EVERYTHING....a new movie coming out.."eh i have downloaded it from this dutch website with a link to a hacker in Hong Kong and if you log on at 3.19 am every second tuesday you can watch it heres the ending...oh god its really exciting i better get my inhaler"...

I am convinced that IT people do absolutely nothing all day except test each other on Family Guy quotes......

Ah folks, lets not descend into an accounting/IT war here (that's not a phrase I ever thought I'd use on cluas), we're all just working for The Man (we can't all be rock gods). I was joking, in good humour, but I've obviously hit a nerve.

I like finance people, they have all the money, they pay for my "toys" and are always good for a free lunch

Say what ya like about "log off and reboot", but I've just walked across a factory and a warehouse to "fix" a PC by doing exactly that, no matter, it makes me look like a freakin genius that I've "magically" fixed their 'poota again. I tell them it's IT peoples bodies have a positive rather than negative static charge.

So I guess todays soundtrack is The Proclaimers "500 miles", OK it's not that far, but it was a long walk...

You sound very frustrated Parton, don't let it bother you so much.

Im in IT myself, we're not all bad. If I'm honest, I don't even like computers that much. Outside of work they're just a means to an end, and I'm happy to wait until a movie/album hits my local cinema too.

"Don't tar us all with the same Lord of the Rings limited edition mystic bru"

fair enough, i apologise for the sweeping statement, of course not all are the same..and the very fact that that we are all on this site posting about new music suggest common interest....as not all finance types are scary either..

agreed, all in good banter...

back to the topic of the thread though....a friend of mine is a civil engineer...yesterday he had to stand at a rounabout and count cars going around it.....Road to Nowhere?
