Anyone here get along to Anseo over the weekend for the 'Bud Rising' festivities? If you did you will obviously know that DFA were seriously on the money and that David 'Hollywood' Holmes is nothing more than a chancer. I mean, the DJ to the stars played 'Paint it Black' twice and also gave 'Nothin but a heartache' a double spin too. He also added to the joy by leaving allmighty gaps between tracks and generally playing the sort of set you'd hear in Anseo any night of the week. All this was in contrast to the delights of the DFA crew the night before, who unleashed a seriously intense, and sometimes euphoric mesh of heavy beats. Totally at odds with Anseos claustrophobic nature yet it totally suited it. Anyone who missed it surely needs a death certificate as an excuse.

Dont think they played the Village, more so just hung out there. Both played the Music Centre the night before, great sets once again.

DFA = ***HARDCORE*** It was unf*ckinbelievable. I actually don't think I can elaborate because that says it all. Utterly fantastic. I've never seen Anseo so wild although can't say the same about Holmes the next night. Exactly as you put it Punchbowl, below average mixing and the same stuff you hear any other night in Anseo. And he looks a bit homeless & scruffy... well he hangs out with George Clooney so... Went down to crawdaddy to see Mr Scruff instead, which although normally wouldn't be my thing thought it was great.

Please, does anyone know who's the performer of the strange cover of "Paint it black" played by David Holmes? I've heard it in Prague this summer and it was such a positive and funny track I think it was in japanese or some other asian language.
Thank you and sorry for my english)
