Saw The Young Knives in Dorans a few months ago and they were really impressive live, think the album is still a couple of months away. Am away Saturday so going to miss them and White Rose Movement. Going to Spinto Band gig alright. What's the album like? Have only heard a couple of tracks. Great line-up for that gig - new Irish signing to Atlantic, Director, plus their label-mates, Switches. The new Director single Reconnect is song of the week on Ian Demsey next week and I think Alison Curtis has a live session on her show this Sunday. Some music at www.myspace.com/directormusic www.myspace.com/weareswitches http://streamos.warnermusic.com/wmedia/wmiuk/director/Reconnectv_Hi.asx http://streamos.warnermusic.com/wmedia/wmiuk/director/Reconnectv_lo.asx Might go to Mr Sruff as well. Always brilliant sets... And The Hub thingy in The Village. Free food?

Anyone see James Lavelle on Thursday night. Bit jammers in the Globe but a stomping gig none the less.

we are scientists - fantastic. really enjoyed it. kinda of a mad moshpit though, the security were going mad. the longcut - good in places, complete crap in others. the singer/drummer pissed me off with his monotone shouting. the automatic - the little fella running about wasn't really my bag at all. tight and poppy though... the morning after girls - overly complicated emo snoozefest one minute, then good the next. but more the former. the shout out louds - great stuff! really cool mix of the cure/arcade fire i thought. very good though, gonna pick me up some songs. i *heard* that the long blondes were crap, spinto band were good, razorlight were ok, and not much about any other of the big bands. anyone care to enlighten me?

Anyone see Huey hosting Never Mind The Buzzcocks this week, what an unfunny guy. The bit where he couldn't stop saying f**k was good though. Speaking of which, where's Mark Lamarr gone? Have I missed an Angus Deaton style coke and hookers scandal?

He hosted? Jaysus. He was a guest a few years back. When I was 15 I decided he was the sexiest man on earth and beyond. It's an opinion I still hold.
