There's some decent enough stuff there (it was never going to be perfect) but dragging myself down to Laois to some chancer's back garden for that, I think not.

This is Damien "I don't listen to music" Rice that's curating a stage. How odd. I'm a fan and all but I've had to see interpritive dance as an opener for his gigs in the past and pretty much the only acts I've ever heard him say nice stuff about are Radiohead and Leonard Cohen, neither of whom I can see playing there, thouhg you never now with Lenny's financial problems.

f**kit, give us all a stage, I could wipe my ass and come up with a better lineup then most promoters (except for last year's EP which looks like it will go down in the annals of deadlyness). I blame all of you for this, you went to the picnic last year and came back saying how great it was now everyone wants to go, you couldn't begrudge like proper Irish people could you, you couldn't be snide.

Disappointing alright. But let's not worry chaps & chapettes. It's only March after all. Lotsa upswing time.

i'm guessing he'll have his mates Bell X1 and i'm told he likes the Guggenheim Grotto. Maybe he'll get anal c**t and deicide, too, just for the laugh.

I'd imagine Lisa and Vyv's solo projects will get a go too. Bell X1 are doing Oxegen so I'd imagine there is an exclusivity clause there.

Last year there was nearly seventy musical acts playing across the four main stages and that's not including the bands and DJ's playing in the Bacardi Bar, the Lost Vagueness tent or the Body and Soul Area. This year it's a three day festival so there's going to be over a hundred acts playing so that means that less than a quarter of the line up has been anounced. We're being a bit premature in denouncing it as a failure already aren't we? I've seen Basement Jaxx, Belle & Sebastian, Super Furry Animals, Saul Williams, Bloc Party and The Rapture live before and they're all quality acts that I'd go see again. I'm already looking forward to seeing Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Devendra Banhart, Antony & the Johnsons, Tom Vek and Coldcut for the first time. Plus last year I didn't get to go to the Silent Disco, the Cinema or the Comedy stage because I was running around the place trying to see as many bands as possible. so even if the line up isn't is strong as last year than at least I'll be able to check these things out.

i have faith in the ole leccy piccy dudes... im sure they are well aware of the anticipation of the act announcement and i doubt they're gonna just go with a crap line up this year. I'm more intersted in the smaller bands they confirm - and hopefully a few irish bands too. Apparently the launch party is on this evening and the official announcement is to be made then... unless any leakers fancy a go right now??!?!?

DJ Shadow, Elbow, Deus and Graham Coxon are all confimed as well. Is it just me or is the line up very indie orientated this year? I thought there would be more acts of the funk/reggae/hip-hop/dance variety.

It's probably sponsored by The Big Tree pub off Dorset Street.

considering that NWA havent been doing anything for about 10 years or more (and Eazy E is flamin' dead), that was always a spoof the others? well, i think theres more to come. I hear mention of WILCO.
