| | I was talking to a mate last night who was playing at Hard Working Class Heroes. He claims that he got chatting to Fergal McKee at the festival and apparently Whipping Boy are heading back into the studio and they're already talking about doing gigs in cork and Dublin. I also read a piece by Jim Carroll in the Ticket a couple of weeks ago that hinted strongly at the posibility of reunion before the end of the year.

but isnt there an interview somewhere on Cluas with Paul Page the guitartist that is fairly bitter about the whole experience?
of course, as carroll said in the piece, money changes everything and i'd say they'd get a rake of money to do the Olympia or Vicar Street

a sap they still put up with for nearly 10 years though when the gigs and record sales were coming in - and a sap they'll put up with again for these gigs and whatever else comes their way
but thats what a band is all about - putting up with the saps who happen to make you seem much better than the sum of your parts. i'm sure the various Coldplayblokes would like to give Chris Martin a dig in the mush now and then but know that without him they are just a bad u2 tribute band (not that theyre a good tribute band with him)

| Well, it's been on the cards for a while now.. I remember Paul Page remarking on some message board that he would 'jump at the chance' to get back together but he did seem very unsure of what Fregals plans were.. Gradually, Paul seemed to lose contact with Fergal and that did upset him.. Anyway, time heals. People fight, people make up. And sometimes common sense prevails. When you've such a great, great band it's worth putting up with certain differences for the good of art.. Heartworm is obviously fantastic, the last album aswell, even though it was merely a collection of demos (and was released mainly by Paul) had moments of genius and fergals solo track from his website is killer too...
Oh, and just to add weight to the rumour, Fergal McKee has a link to www.whippingboy.net on his webiste.. However, clicking on
www.whippingboy.net brings you here http://www.fergalmckee.com/ !!! Hmmm!!!
Now, an A House reunion on top of this and it'll be a great Christmas
