| | It's stupid. An atomic bomb would hardly be lying in the ground waiting for someone to come along and dismantle it now would it? Also one could expose oneself to dangerous radiation attempting such a feat. It's irresponsible really. Think of the children.
As an album name it's one of the worst titles I've ever heard. Can U2's marketing people not come up with something better than that??

| | Its a bit unwieldy as titles go, and by the sound of it, probably means the old righteous, political U2 is back for good. Shame really, I much preferred the Achtung Baby/Zooropa period when they took themselves less seriously but were producing much more interesting music. Anyway, thats just a guess, can't really pass judgement until I've actually heard it. | | | |

| | maybe it's an ironic statement about the troubled times we live in. bono is a political guy after all. at least it's better than 'let's bottle bohemia'... | | | |

| | It'd be a pretty cool name for an album if it was any other band. But because it's U2 it's hard to see past the self righteous overtones this album title suggests. They've really set themselves up for a fall if this album bombs(sorry). Headlines on a SAE | | | |

| | I'm a non u2 fan, have the greatest hits for parties to keep people happy, but i have to say i find the title interesting. Are they being Ironic?
Is it genuine?
Has Bono just gone too far?
Are they actually nuclear technichians?
Is it a bit late considering the cold war ended?
Are the instructions in a few languages?
I t sounds like an exciting prospect for U2. Last and only time i thought they were good (no accouting for taste , so dont even start at me over that comment) was achtung baby cos it was a radical change for them which meant they were a little nervous or something.
Is this gonna be similar?
I hope so! | | | |

Nope, the threat of a nuclear attack actually gradually increased since the end of the cold war because of the proliferation of nuclear technology to smaller nations such as India an Pakistan and the threat of such weapons falling into the hands of terrorist organisations.
The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists "Doomsday Clock" now reads at seven minutes to midnight (midnight being a disastrous nuclear war), the same setting as when the clock was created in 1947, the same as it was in 1960 and closer than it was in 1990 at the end of the cold war (ten minutes to midnight.)

| 'How to dismantle Bono's Mouth' might have been a better title. | | | |

| | Or "how to drag out your career as long as is humanly possible without releasing an album of note in over ten years". Just rolls off the tongue | | | |

| | There is a gigantic wall covering at the top of Grafton Street proclaiming The Thrills new album. I found myself wanting to rearrange a few choice words to read 'Lets Bottle The Thrills'.
Interesting title, on the U2 front, if for no other reason than it will *really* screw up the CIA if rumours that they monitor search engines/email for key phrases are real

What about, "How to dismantle an atomic bomb, when we actually find it, not that Iraq doesn't have it, just that they have hid it really well. Oh is that the bomb ? No, its an old milk churn. Well, lets dismantle that instead"

Anything is better than 'Burn The Maps'.
Pity they didn't call it 'Burn The Master Tapes' and take their own advice.
