| Two tracks I particularly enjoyed listening to this morning:
The Mae Shi - Run to your grave: it's about consumerism or something and not being able to take it all with you, I think.
Kavinksky - Testarossa Night Drive (Sebastien Mix) - and in complete contrast, a hedonistic anthem to soundtrack that 80s icon of excess, the Ferrari Testarossa, which to a generation raised on playing Sega Outrun and Miami Vice probably seems like the coolest thing ever. Of course the reality is the Testarossa was one of the worst cars Ferrari ever built and a bit of a dog. Try telling that to the 80s nostalgia kids though, never meet your heroes, etc. Anyway, class track, stick with the fantasy. | | | |

| Jellyfish's Spilt Milk - 15 years old but nobody has done anything as poptastic since then. Check out the youtube clips of these guys on Later with Jools, brilliant stuff.
Ween's La Cucaracha - Took me a while to get into it, but I love it now. 'Object' is one of their best tracks ever. David Sanborn's sax on 'Your Party' and Gene Ween's lyrics and delivery make a delicious closer.
Tomahawk's Anonymous - Hard Rock Interpretations of Native American songs from the 19th Century. Hope they tour this album, they owe us one after cancelling the "Mit Gas" European Tour in 2003. | | | |

The Cinematic Orchestra 'Ma Fleur' (Absolutely stunning late-night/hangover music, Lou Rhodes and Patrick Watson on vocal duties)
Led Zeppelin 'Mothership' (Majestic and overwhelming. The f**king drumming!)
American Music Club 'The Golden Age' (Why this band, and their frontman Mark Eitzel, remain largely unknown is an absolute travesty)
British Sea Power 'Do You Like Rock Music?' (Bit disappointing after reading all the glowing reviews, only bought it yesterday so not giving up on it yet!)
