there's no denying the power, warmth and incredible sincerity of nina simone...from the black roots roar of "the backlash blues" to the overwhelmingly emotional tribute to martin luther king "why?", to the tender humanity of her cover of dylan's "just like a woman" to the joyous declarations of life and living on "it be's that way sometimes" and "ain't got no - i got life" to the shuddering anguished expressionism of "my man's gone now", nina's music will truly live on...
an essential unique voice and a proud, warm and sensitive person...rest in peace
