The problem being my partner in crime for the weekend loves Daftpunk... But I might try twist her arm

and Yes I might fit in The Hold Steady. Although I only know one song and have no opinion on them as of yet. What exactly is Blue Collar Rock? gimme another example

Saturday:

Cathy Davey
The Hold Steady
Biffy Clyro
Tokyo Police Club/Gossip
Kings of Leon
Maximo Park
Interpol
QOTSA/I'm from Barcelona

Sunday:

Long Blondes
Bloc Party/Gogol Bordello/Albert Hammond Jr. (TBC)
CSS/BRMC/Air Traffic (TBC)
Cold War Kids
Arcade Fire
Bright Eyes
New Young Pony Club
Klaxons
National

I'll be running around like a mad man on the Sunday or I won't see half the bands that I want. That's TBC as well.

Floodzer, the Hold Steady are excellent. I bought their current album on the strength of that one single and a clatter of good reviews and for once I haven't been disappointed. The Springsteen comparisons are valid but they're not just clones either, in fact I'd go so far as to say that their lyrics are superior ( and I say that as a huge Springsteen fan. )

I'll be checking out CSS also, and evidently I'm the only one on Cluas too uncool to want to see The Killers and Snow Patrol.

Well as far as I can see they aint clashing with anyone so I might just drop in for a listen thanks.
I'd like to see The Killers too actually, I watched their Glastonbury set on d'telly last week and was quite impressed. But when I saw them at Oxegen (2 yrs ago?) I had a brutal time and Ive never seen Daft Punk or The National live so I'll probably opt for one of them instead. Snowpatrol are dead to me after this year...

THE GOSSIP "that's it really. They're the only band I REALLY want to see"
Is the album very strong? havent got around to getting it yet, loved the single though....great singer.....

having seen brian wilson at glasto 2 years ago, i strongly recommend ppl to see him, the band are outrageous.......the hold steady too, oh and rufus wainright......it really is a fantastic line up, hope the atmosphere is good though, not in a snobby fashion, just in a "not burning, p*siing on tents, starting row" way.....

I love their three records, but Standing In The Way Of Control is the best one. Namely, I just want to hear that title track live because I will lose my mind.

Right, I've decided to check out The Gossip on account of all you f*ckers raving about them ( and also because I plan to see both The Twang and Biffy Clyro before them so might as well stick around. )

Anyone care to describe who/what they sound like ?

Although I like Bright Eyes on record, I wouldn't go near him live again after the disaster that was Glasto '05.

p.s. the gossip suck. really awful stuff.
