| | Badly Drawn Boy in Amsterdam : € euro 13
Badly Drawn Boy in Dublin : € euro 26.50
The look on MCD's face if we start boycotting their gigs for being a bloody rip-off! : PRICELESS!

| That is remarkable......
MORE than twice the price....
We seem to be getting screwed left right and centre...
Promoters, venues etc. seem to be demanding a large slice of the pie in this country..
The worst example I've heard to date is the people
who had to pay 77 Euros (Incl Booking fees) to see Prince in the Point....

| | As has been posted here previously, tickets for the Ryan Adams igi in Dublin are 25 % dearer than England and 50% dearer than Brussels. MCD are taking the piss.

| | What's the point? we might as well keep moaning here as moan to them...they'll laugh off all the moaning and complaints in the world if their gigs keep selling out. The only way to make a change is to boycott their gigs.

| | Both approaches are valid - boycott the gigs and mail them to tell them why!
On another tack, here is a FASCINATING url of the costs to book an act for a night (and a very comprehensive list indeed). Badly Drawn Boy is circa 7.5K dollars whereas Morrissey is 50K. For those masochists out there, you could have Nickelback at your birthday party for a mere 50K!!!

| | it may interest y'all to know that i received a reply to my query from MCD requesting more information on particular grievances. i suggest that everyone checks the facts and submits them to mcd via the feedback facility on mcd.ie
i remember eoghan o'neill citing similar cases a few months back too...

| | Just thought I'd let you know that I bought myself a ticket to see Doves here in Brussels for €13.50 (that's €12.50 the ticket and €1 booking fee). The Brussels gig is on Nov 7th. A month or so later on Dec 13 they play the Olympia and the tickets are €28.20 (before booking charges). Yes that is MORE than DOUBLE the price for their gig in Brussels. Don't blame MCD, the blame is in the hands of people who are prepared to pay these prices. MCD are charging what the market will take. Only punters can bring about a change by refusing to pay these prices. A boycott is what some would advocate under such circumstances. So really it's all in the hand of the punter. Or you could emigrate to Brussels, it actually ain't bad over here. Right, enough from me.
