| | "Rock star wins anonymity battle over sex allegations" runs the headline on an article on today's ireland.com website (http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/breaking/2002/0515/breaking72.htm). Check out the story and see if anybody can work out who this anonymous rock star is... Might there be a few hints in the article? Like is it not interesting to see that UTV were one of the media outlets seeking to lift the reporting ban on disclosing the artist's name? UTV? It's hardly a case of it being an Ulster artist is it? If it was it certainly would be very newsworthy for UTV to feature on the local news I suppose, would it not? Like I couldn't imagine UTV going to court to disclose, say, Eddie Vedder's name? Anyway the woman who has made the allegations is a certain Linda Gail Lewis (who, conicidentally, recently collaborated with a well-known millionaire, middle-aged singer of Northern Irish origin). If your not sure who it was she collaborated with just search for her name on www.google.com and check the first few search results carefully (http://www.google.com/search?q=Linda+Gail+Lewis+&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&hl=en&meta=)
If it's not him it's quite a conincidence I suppose.

| | It never fails to sicken me when (alleged) criminals are guaranteed anonimity and safety while the (alleged) victims have their names and pictures splashed everywhere.
I'm not talking specifically about this case but about a general pattern, particularly in high profile cases.
It seems to me that a criminal justice system that shows more favour to suspects than victims is inherently flawed.
On a completely unrelated topic the millionaire northern irish singer is releasing a new album.

| | The album our anonymous friend did with Lewis was quite listenable but really it souded like what it was; a tired old hack flirting with someone who is only on the record 'cos she's connected to someone famous.
