Some very interesting stuff there.

But, of course, the most intriguing is the positive review for Damo!

How are the CLUAS cognoscenti going to react to that?... ;-)

I agree with the review of '9' - the songwriting is better (he seems to be less self-conscious and more self-assured) and there's less of the histrionics and sensitive-artist persona. It's a good album, with four or five really strong songs that suggest that if he got in a producer who'd cut out some of the self-indulgences that spoiled 'O' and still pop up on '9' he might actually deliver a masterwork...

Yeah Daragh didn't write the review - my mistake when putting the page together. Will correct it later.

No it was Steven O'Rourke who wrote. Have corrected the by-line now in the review.

I really like O but after a 4 year wait I'm a bit let down by 9. There's a couple of songs on it that I really dislike and a couple that I've loved live which don't really click on record.

At the same time there are a few songs I think are super.

Don't wanna turn this into a Damien Rice thread but I've gotta agree with unicron about 9. A bit of a disappointment I felt, I just can't get into some of the production on the album. It might grow on me though
