| | Big fan of Vicar st.. Love the warmth and the layout. Also, have a strange affection for the Temple Bar Music Centre, when the gig is good, it's a great venue (saw Snow Patrol there LAST YEAR!! which is crazy considering their new global fame). How about a thread for worst venue? The Village perhaps?? | |

For small gigs:
Conolloy's of Leap is pretty mind blowing.
Clere's in Kilkenny is a really atmospheric room.
Midsize:
Fingers crossed for the revamped roisin dubh.
Dolan's in Limerick is pretty decent.
Bigger:
vicar st. but a ticking air conditioner in the balcony almost wrecked one gig for me.

going to be a 2000 capacity venue called THe Electric. First acts booked for it are The Cult and Level 42

i've stopped going to gigs there now after being so disappointed by the state of the place ruining several should-have-been-deadly nights(mogwai,grandaddy,interpol/ff...). | | | |

Although a lot depends on the talents of the soundman.
Whelans and Village and Dorans(venue?) ain't great, again,
