| | don't want to hear...what, exactly?! i know there's an email member function on the site, i was asking about private messaging, precisely because i'm aware that most people on here have no interest in the hassle i've had from a certain moderator on this site.
and spurtacus, sorry but i won't let it go. if you'd been treated the same way, i doubt if you'd want to let it go until you'd gotten some sort of an honest response either. what's the big feckin deal anyway - even if you read every single post i've ever made on this site it couldn't possibly take you more than about 5 minutes; it's not as if i'm taking up valuable, limited space, and it's not as if this is exactly the most active forum in the world. to be honest, if i wasn't the one getting pissed on by moderator/admin types, i'd actually find the whole thing quite entertaining...
maybe the admin should consider adding a private message function to the site, it'd be very handy...

| | This messageboard is running on free software called Snitz Forums. As far as I'm aware (correct me if I'm wrong Eoghan), it does not have a facility for private messaging built in by default. Its probably possible to program a PM add on, but that would be too much work by half as its a feature I don't think is really essential. There is a facility for people to put their ICQ/AIM/MSN in their profile and have other users see if they are online in those clients so if someone has those in their profile you can contact them that way. | | | |

There are actualled some PM scripts developed to add on to this discussion board. I looked into them a while back but decided against implmenting one considering, as Binokular correctly points out, members are all free to put their ICQ/AIM/MSN in their profile.

obviously it's your call to make, but for me private messaging would be much simpler - not every user is happy to include email/msn etc in their profile... given all the, dare i say, 'be-atching' that goes on about 'boring' threads, yawnyawn, maybe private messages would be worth adding...
