| why did you all vote the frames new album as album of the year? i like the last few ones but this one is to slick frames by numbers trying to grasp at a sound that they cant pull off. although I dont know what i would have voted for. | | | |

A lot of people don't like Damien Rice, but you don't hear us ripping him to shreds at every available opportunity...:)

| | Its not that i dont like the frames. its just that after for the birds they had two ways to go soundwise. i personally think they went the wrong way. live you cant knock them and dance the devil is one of those albums that ill be listening till i die but i dont like the version of pavement tune when they play it live now. it should all kick in with the "let me take you by the hand line" it doesnt. | | | |

| | the frames are the classic marmite band. personally i hated them until i saw them at witnness 2002. they blew me away and from then on i've been an unashamed hansophile. burn the maps isn't a scratch on any of their other albums. even though it did revive fake after the single version almost killed it. it was too atmospheric for the sake of being atmospheric. too much awkward progression and clever d**kery. but if they're becoming bored with the frames era of pavement tune/revelate/star star then they have every right to try get some distance from it. it just may not work as they want it to. twats will be calling for red chord for many years to come | | | |

I love a few frames tunes from down through the years but they're a bit limited in expression for my own taste (before you attack remember i said "for my own taste", I'm being subjective here). But they do a few things that no one else can touch. | | | |
