Think you've seen the best band, are in the best band, hate the band that everybody thinks is best! You can make a difference by registering as a user of CPU Records. For those of you who haven't figured it out yet CPU Records is a user based Internet site. Without getting into jargon this means that once you become a user of the site every area of the site is accessable to YOU to do as thou whilt! Once you login you can input news stories, reviews and band profiles on the home page, events in the live listings section (events section), your links in the industry section, photos of your band in the photography section, vote in polls, post comments in all areas of the site, chat in the forum, communicate with other members, listen to CPU Radio (streaming tracks of CPU Artists). Currently we're in the final stages of getting the CPU Artists section of the site up and running. Here you will be able to register as a band and upload biog, pics, news, messages and MP3s, basically set up your bands microsite which you will then be able to edit and update whenever you want from wherever you want without waiting for anyone else to do it for you! In the CPU Artists section you will be able to make your tunes available to sell as downloads. You'll also be able to use the site as a shop to sell your finished CD, merchandise etc via the shop section and earn some green! Not only that but the homepage of the artists section will have a weekly chart listing of the most listened to CPU Artists and two randomly featured artists profiles everytime someone views the page (there's no favouritism here). We're also working on a video gallery for all you Cecil B.De Mills where you will be able to upload your realplayer, quicktime and flash versions of your video promos, TV appearances or filmed gigs! CPU is for you! You have the power to send this site in whatever direction you want! Anybody interested in helping us out in this endeavour leave your comments

Considering that the above topic posting contained no mention of a website address, and therefore there must be no website up and running, it seems a little soon to be asking people to help y'all out. Maybe it would be better to get something together and live on the net before posting out press releases. Failing that, offering stock options with a view to a future IPO in return for advice on how the build the site would be an acceptable compromise. Just a thought.
