An offical looking post on their messageboard says that its all over and that their last gig will be the TBMC gig on July 3rd.
What a pity. Great band. Some great tunes.

| | That's not too surprising. They don't seem to have done a whole lot since releasing their album. They had that song for the coke ad but they never seemed to capitalise on it. It's a pity cause they did have some good tunes. In the grand scheme of things I don't think they would've ever been seen as the shining light of the Irish music scene. That seems to happen to a lot of really good irish bands, which is a pity because we do have such an alive and strong music scene. Were Junkster Irish? What happened to them? Ever heard of Sherman M4. Good Mayo metal band, but not enough people know about them. | | | |

Junkster were, indeed, Irish. Signed to RCA America. They recorded and released one album before being unceremoniously dropped. Nothing but the same old story. Good band though with a truly great guitarist in Mick Creedon. | | | |

| This sucks on so many levels, I don't even know where to begin. 
I got into these guys last year after Tom Dunne gave loads of airplay to the brilliant single " Don't Go Out". I bought everything they released and thought the album was superb. They were the first Dublin band in years that I've really been excited about and just seemed to get better live every time I saw them.
What is it with bands in this country ? None of the decent bands seem to have any staying power. Meanwhile, f*cking losers like The Thrills sell out venues all over the country with their half baked rehashes of discarded Eagles b - sides. | | Well that's a shame.. Their last single and video was really good. I really thought they had the balls to carry on, sure they didn't sit well around the big campfire that is Dublin Music but they seemed like a good, honest Rock band. Lest not forget that they where formed in some way out of the ashs of one of the Great Lost Irish bans, SUNBEAR....

Yeah, but at least for every dull and vapid Thrills there are at least three good original Irish bands. Should it really matter in the long run if they're popular all over? As long as they make their music for whoever wants to hear it alls well...
