Anyone heard the whole album? I liked the 1st single off it a lot (Tarantula, I think it was called), and the new one "That's the way (my love is)" is easily as good as anything they've ever done. I'm in 2 minds though as to whether I should just buy the album or download the 2 singles.

Whooo hooo... JamesT and I are about to agree on something!

'That's the way' - quite correct sir, is one of the finest songs the band have ever done. Tarantula as well is fantastic.

Sad to say however, that this is where the fun ends. Its a shockingly bad album IMO & i adored the Pumpkins. Keep your 18 yoyo's and just download the singles.

I've listened to it a number of times. I'm underwhelmed by the majority of it so far. I'm inclined to think that it may well be a mood album.

Made you look

I have to say that I think there's more to 'Zeitgeist' than just the singles. Sure, there's a couple of underwhelming tracks, but the likes of Doomsday Clock, alongside the singles, is well up there in the Pumpkins' body of work. Aside from that you have United States, which is an epic guitarfest in the mould of Silverf**k/The Airplane Flies High, if not quite reaching the stunning brilliance of either. I do think that of any of the recent comeback albums (The Stooges' mediocre 'The Weirdness'?), 'Zeitgeist' is a more than respectable album and fits in quite well with the rest of the Pumpkins' records...it's definitely several cuts above the shocking Machina (Stand Inside Your Love apart!).

I don't understand the logic (apart obviously the $$) in breaking up Zwan to reform SP ... Zwan had Chamberlain on drums & Corgan on Vox/guitar. Same as new Pumpkins.

LOL!! I'll get the 2 singles so! I have to say that I'm really digging Silversun Pickups. Some of their stuff is sooooo Smashing Pumpkins-like that it could well be vintage S.P. Excellent stuff though!
