It's a long time since I was this excited about a gig...

Haven't heard when tickets actually go on sale yet though.

Fantasic. As great as they were at Oxegen, its time for a headline gig. Pity its smelly shed RDS.

6 tickets per person ... for a venue of about 6,000. Ridiculous considering there are no assigned seats.

1,000 sales will go as quickly as Arcade Fire !!!

Really love the previous 2 albums, and was totally excited about seeing them in the Olympia last time. But they were so fcuking dull, really disappointing live. I'd be dubious about shelling out 40 quid to see them in the RDS...

One of the best live acts I've ever seen. Can't wait, its an excellent Autumn for gigs in Ireland.

Bad Autumn for my overdraft mind!

Carlsberg sits garret down.... Together now.. February to April be spring, May to July be summer.. yeah thats it... now August to October is... yeah thats the one.. Autumn and finally November to January be winter..

So that would make Interpol in da winter den!

you know i love ya garret!

Agreed, a fantastic live band but if what Mully says is correct about 6 tickets per person then that is simply outrageous. I dont understand this continuous stance ticketmaster take of selling more than 2 tickets per person. Would have to disagree about the Olympia being a poor show as well. Very suprised at that but each to their own.

just to correct myself, 'this stance that promoters take' with regard to selling tickets in bulk like that. The gig will sell out anyway it just means that a good 65% of the genuine fans will not get them at face value and have to fork out over the top for them.

That is a bizarre statement about the Olympia show in 2005, it was one of the best gigs I've ever been at.

I like Interpol, (their latest album is their best so far), but I agree with Goat Boy in saying the Olympia
show was rather unremarkable. I wasn't blown away nor was I disappointed..they just came on, did their thing, didn't speak to the audience, went off again. Crowd went berserk, of course. Can't quite put my finger on it as it wasn't a 'bad' gig, it was just by the time I got home I had completely forgotten about it. I won't be bothering to see them in RDS horse-shed/dump.

Yep, exactly what I was trying and maybe failed to say. The gig wasn't terribly different from listening to the album really loud in a dark venue, it had no extra spark. Hey, it's all about opinions! Don't worry christianwise, I won't be attempting to undeservedly procure myself a ticket, they're all yours ;-)
