Anyone going to this gig? Should be good I think. Don’t know how long tickets have been on sale but I just bought mine. Their album ‘Gulag Orkestar’ is excellent and I think this is there first gig in Ireland, although I could be wrong about that.

Opened for Calexico in the Olympia. A friend of mine says she saw him/them before but I don't know if that was here or abroad.

I'll see the set at Primavera before I decide to go or not.

if youre into beirut, Taraf de Haidouks and Bratsch are really, really well worth checking out.

The Beirut record is a decent album, but compared to these guys... and the word honkey springs to mind.

Yeah ill have a look on oink now. thats not anything to do with yer man julian from neutral milk hotel is it???i remember reading he was doing something with eastern european music

the neutral milk hotel dudes played with beirut as far as i know. Those two bands that i gave are old gypsy heads from europe.

Gogol Bordello are a bit like that too, theyre more punky, pretty mental. Check out their jools holland shows on youtube.
