| was at his gig last night and the poor guy was so ill. he fought it and still managed to put on a hugely enjoyable show...he looked ready to collapse in a heap by the end of the set so, unsurprisingly, there was no encore
if the second gig in crawdaddy goes ahead tomorrow night, make sure to get there in time for dosh's support slot...epic!

| | Didn't see Dosh, didn't know he was supporting. Know he plays on the new Andrew Bird album so was disappointed i didn't get to check him out. Andrew Bird was just super for a guy with the flu. I'm half tempted to go again tonight as it should be a different set. Kind of a Final Fantasy approach with the loops. Amazingly talented musician and whistler. Highly recommended. | | | |

| did you not think the whistling was ever so slightly overdone...i could have lived without it on a couple of songs but then i suppose he was just trying to give his voice a rest.
i'm being too harsh and a tad nitpicky on a sick man....and a good whislter (if a little too eager on that front)

| The whistling didn't bother me. I was surprised at how good it sounded overall although that said i won't be picking up any Roger Whittaker CDs!

| | Great set last night, if that's his voice when he's unwell then in full health he must sound amazing. A touch of the Jeff Buckleys (when not been really flashy) about how he sings. | | | |

| Yeah the buckley parallels were undeniable at times, especially when it was just bird his guitar and the drums
Some omissions from the set that i would have loved to hear, Nervous Tic Motion Of The Head To The Left, MX Missiles, but he played my favourites of the new record so it was all good.
I liked the way he sometimes acted out the vocals
and once they sorted out the sound after the first track I enjoyed the whistling

| | He did Nervous Tic Motion on Monday and acted out the lyrics for that. I was hoping he'd do Fake Palindromes for the Monday night encore but alas, he was unwell and did not. | | | |

| Ah Buckley Schmukley! Bird's a different entity. Nothing langorous or whiney about him unlike Buckley. His lyrical sense and musical style is a different breed of a beast in my opinion.
Jeff Buckley is one of the THE most over-rated artists ever. Yeah, he was a talented guy but certainly far from original. And his most famous song? A cover of the silver-tongued Leonard Cohen.
