What a great show for discovering new bands.... The Black Keys, Regina Spektor, Arcade Fire, Rilo Kiley, Hot Hot Heat, Death From Above 1979, last ever TV performance by Guided By Voices, loads more...Producer/Band-booker/Music supervisor on that show really knows his/her stuff. Plus O'Brien is funny as f**k too, which helps... CSNBC Sat/sun 9-ish

yeah conan is cool. but the show hardly 'discovers' bands now, does it? They just rip off what the OC plays

long before the OC this show has been featuring deadly music - I watched it religiously just to see what bands were on (jonathan richman and an irish-american actress singing a song called 'just because I'm irish' - brilliant!!!) - but has springsteen ever been on, given that his drummer max weinberg is the band leader on the show?

the bould damien rice has made an appearance too, would have been relatively new to the states at the time. did the frames play one of the late night shows recently? conan is ridulously funny. anyone see the sketch where he plays baseball with these people who dress up the way they used to when baseball was invented? sweet jesus...

there was a really good sketch during the height of Red Sox madness last year, where he did his intro over one of the 'base cams', which was basically looking up his crotch. Pretty funny. gotta love the quiff

Does Jay Leno not basically rival Conan? And didn't Snow Patrol play Jay Leno recently?

As far as I know Conan is on after Jay on NBC in the US, he will take over the Tonight show in a couple of years when Leno leaves

Snow patrol were on Jay Leno last week.. along with jenny Lopez and the guy who got picked first in the NFL draft (hes going to the 49ers) I think the music on both is pretty cool : Ani Di franco was on jay Leno twice one week, she was Conan last week... Youre right Unicorn they both are on NBC

I didn't mean the show itself was good at discovering bands (well, come to think of it, it actually is) just that it's a good way for ME to discover and see these new bands playing live. I started watching this show cos Conan is so damn funny (he wrote for the Simpsons, how cool is that??), the great music is a great bonus. When Death From Above 1979 played, Max Weinberg rushed over and took over on drums mid-song. Brilliant.
