I today added some new functionality to the Discussion board - info on “active users”. On the discussion board home page it now gives info on not just how many guests are browsing the site but also how many of them are registered members, who they are (by their log-in name) and how many are “guest” vistors. I've also added a new link right there above in the top right hand corner ("Active Users"). When a signed-in member clicks on it they'll be brought to a new page that shows who is online on the Discussion Board at that particular moment in time. If you don't want to appear in this list when you are browsing the Board you can just log-in to your profile (click the "Profile" link above) and just change the answer to the new question "Show on Active Users?" from ‘yes’ to 'No'. Then you will appear in any active user stats as an "Anonymous" member. If anyone has any problems or discovers any bug just get it touch with me or post a message here. Hope yaz dig this little gimmick. Cheers. eoghan

If I could suggest something, a field to enter MSN messenger names in your profile like there is for AIM and ICQ, seeing as micosoft provide it as standard on windows these days it's very a popular IM client.

Unicron, Your wish is my command, etc. I've just added a field on the registration page where new people who register can enter their MSN messenger name. Those already registered who have an MSN messenger name can also add it in now. All yiz gotta do is log in, then click the "profile" link you see at the very top of the page and then fill in your MSN messenger name in the provided field. Then just 'save' the change. And yer done. eoghan

Gar, Don't forget to update your profile with your MSN messenger name if you want people to be able to reach you via MSN. Just click the "Profile" link on the top of the page here and add in the info, and then 'submit' it. And look out for even more new functionality added to the discussion board over the coming days... eoghan

Double espressos? Java coding? Not a chance. Well, not yet anyway. But the upgrading orgy continued. Last night I added a new bit that now shows who is online and who is not online when you're reading down through a thread (have a look over there to the left of any posting (and by 'online' it means who is logged on to the discusion board and who is not). And while I'm at it, last night I set it up so that if someone visits www.CLUAS.org they'll arrive at www.CLUAS.com (people visiting www.CLUAS.net has been landing on CLUAS.com now for well over a year). The gimmicks? I'll try and keep 'em coming. eoghan

Another day, another addition to the list of Discussion Board gimmicks. Yeah, it's Wednesday so it's the launch of the spanking new list of (...dramatic pause please...) the "CLUAS top Top 10 Members of the last 30 days". Yeah, I just added a new page that shows the Top 10 Members of the last 30 days in terms of messages posted to the Discussion Board. It's actually a lot more that, cuz when you visit the page you can completely configure it yourself (by fiddling with the 'drop down' options) to give you the top 10, 20, 30, 99, whatever members of last 5 / 10 / 15 / 180 / 360 days as well as of all time. So yeah a nifty one. But a gimmick all the same. Check it out at: http://www.cluas.com/discussion/members_top_poster_na.asp I've also put a permanent link to it on the top of all Discussion board pages (see it up there on the top right hand corner, the link is called out as "NEW! Top 10 Members". eoghan

Jaysus, I'm third, at least the person who said to me that they spent far too much time posting here can take solice from only being in the 20's. You know who you are and if you truely want to be a loser you must try harder.
